Equip arrows then pullback on your cross/bow, pause the game, unequip arrows, then unpause and it should shoot an arrow without losing any in your inventory.

Keep the Summoned Monsters
Get the summon (scamp, skeleton minion, least bonewalker, ancestor ghost or guardian). Hit someone, then use the spell and before it goes away use it again. Note: Hide behind the thing you summoned if the person can kill you.
